New data protection laws mean that we need your permission to stay in touch, even if you’re a long term supporter or you’ve given us permission before.
So if you don’t opt in to hear from us, you may get left out.
Some of the things that we send are core parts of your membership and will still be sent to you. These include:
- Western Courier Magazine
- Lineside newsletters
- Membership renewal
Your privacy is important to us and so we will always keep your details secure and never disclose them to any third party or send communications that you have not agreed to receive.
Your support matters and so we would like to use your details to keep in touch about things that matter to you.
These may include:
- Special events on the Severn Valley Railway and elsewhere.
- Opportunities to volunteer.
- Appeals and Fundraising.
- News about our locomotives

Please note that in order to comply with the General Data Protection Regulations 2018, we will only hold the personal information on you that you have provided, and we will only use that information for the purpose of providing you with news and information connected with the benefits of your membership whilst you remain a member. We will never disclose that personal information to any outside third party and the personal information that we hold on you shall be deleted twelve months after your membership lapses unless you make a request that this be done sooner. You can make a request to access the personal information that we hold on you at any time and to require that information to be amended or deleted.
